On Tuesday, October 7th we headed towards Monticello, Utah, which is in the Southeastern corner of the state about one hour away from Four Corners. Big Mister's mother grew up there and we have always wanted to visit. It is a small farming community and is very beautiful.
When we arrived (after 8 hours in the car), the kids could not wait to get outside to run and play in the nice cool weather. They found a cat and dog to play with as well as a pond, bridge and all kinds of little critters. The farm is a child's delight.
Our cousin, Linda, took us on a ride up Blue Mountain which is just minutes from her farm.
We saw dozens of deer and lots of turkeys. The Fall colors were spectacular and the weather was brisk and cold. (Big Mister didn't even break out a sweater the whole trip...even when the weather was in the 30's). He thinks he's so tough! Hee Hee.Linda was a wonderful host and made the most delicious food. She even sent me on my way with several new recipes (and some yummy leftovers). Thank you Linda.
