We moved up high on the sloping bench of Mount Timpanogos. A five minute (or so) walk up the mountain behind our house and this is our view. That’s Utah Lake.
We made the move from Salt Lake County to Utah County. We did not intend to move further south. In fact, we intentionally did not look in Utah County. Not that we were opposed to it, but we wanted the Mister’s commute to stay fairly short. Well, this is when you know someone else has a plan for our family and we were led to look at a particular home in Pleasant Grove. This was a home that was for sale by owner and I had first viewed it back in March. I kept seeing it and would always move it to the bottom of the list.
We looked at over 100 real contender homes, either online, drive by, or actually walking in. Nothing was coming close to what we were looking for.
We actually made an offer on another home and just didn’t feel good about it after sleeping on it. We did not accept the counter offer and the kids were terribly sad, especially Little Miss who loved the house. The next day our realtor said, “we need to go see that home in Pleasant Grove that you keep seeing and talking about. Let’s just do it.” So, Big Mister took a few hours off work and we walked through the home while the kids were at school. It was almost immediate that we knew this was our home. Everything we saw we loved. We knew the kids would love it even more than the one we had previously made an offer on.
We were under contract within hours and the whole process was pretty smooth. We had no doubts which was a nice feeling.
Our home is very close to being directly under the big G on the mountain, for "Grove”.
The kids have said several time how much they love our house. That sure makes a parent feel good! They love hiking “our” mountain. There are several trails and we notice lots of hikers, runners and walkers.

“Happy, Happy, Happy”. Yes, we are Duck Dynasty fans. Little Miss spotted dad’s T-shirt at Wally World and she just had to get it.
We found this big round cement thing that we think is somehow related to water treatment, but we aren’t sure. The kids like to hike up to it and play. When we were there we saw a bunch of girls in their late teens jumping rope and singing, “Cinderella dressed in yellow went upstairs to kiss a fellow….” It was fun to watch.
We love our new home, our neighbors are wonderful. Everyone has been so welcoming. We have received visitors, lots of cookies, a meal and had help moving boxes. We are so happy and feel so lucky to have found this place.
