Women’s Conference

IMG_0431

I was fortunate to get a ticket to the LDS Women’s Conference in downtown Salt Lake City.  I was so excited to go.  I have been to General Conference many times, but have never been to the Women’s Conference.  I went with several friends from my Ward.  It was fun getting to know a bunch of fun ladies that are my friends and neighbors.

Afterward we all went out for soup.  It was a cool evening and we were all so hungry!  The soup and the laughs hit the spot.

We have taken the Conference Center tour many times.   It is an amazing building.  Every time we go we learn something new because there is a different host each time and they each know something a little different.  This last tour we were told that Pres. Hinckley did not want poles to obstruct anyone’s view.  So, they worked with very knowledgeable builders and there is this huge beam that runs across the roof of the Conference Center that holds everything up.  They say it is a one of a kind architectural wonder.   If you’ve been in this building you understand how impressive it is.  There are gardens all over the roof and we learned that there is special composite dirt used in the gardens so it wouldn’t be so heavy on the roof.

Last Sunday, we went to the Sunday afternoon session of General Conference.   We try to get tickets and go as often as we can.   We want the kids to remember how it felt to be in the Conference Center to see and hear the Prophet.   We love being in Salt Lake for Conference.  It is just wonderful.
