Little Mister receives his Arrow of Light

The highest award in Cub Scouting is the Webelos Arrow of Light Award.  You can only earn it before you are 11 years old.   The leaders make a pretty big deal about earning the award and have a nice ceremony to celebrate the achievement.

Little Mister with his Webelos leaders.  Thy were so good to work with us in getting the scouting records from where we used to live and make sure, with Big Mister’s help, that Little Mister had done everything he needed.

Little Mister walked across the “Arrow of Light” to signify achievement, crossing over to the next level.

The ceremony included painting of the face.  Each color represents different things and there are several ways of making this presentation.  Partly, the colors are the symbol of the seven rays of the sun, one for each day of the week; this is to remind the scout that every day is a new day: a day to do your best in everything.

The scout committee presented Little Mister with this quiver which was made with all the Cub Scout patches, activity pins, etc. that he earned.
